The act concerning Danish development cooperation was enacted in 2011.
The act presents an enhanced focus upon human rights and sustainable growth which henceforward constitute the foundation for Denmark's development cooperation.
Furthermore, the act states that Danish development cooperation aims to fight poverty, promote human rights, democracy, sustainable development, peace and stability in accordance with the UN treaty.
Last time the act concerning Danish development cooperation was revised was in 1971. The changes are made to reflect the dynamic and changing international context in which danish development cooperation takes place today.
