Denmark provides funds through multilateral and international organisations in the form of both core and earmarked contributions. While funding for and through the organisations supports their mandates and operations, including their efforts to pursue international development goals such as the Sustainable Development Goals, various forms of funding may serve various objectives. Although earmarked funding is the preferred option, the below set of guiding principles should be taken into account in order to ensure good management and high quality of earmarked funding. The guiding principles have been developed together with a group of other OECD countries.
