Exiting from Bilateral Development Cooperation

The Guidance Note is targeted to the managements of Danish representations and presents some of the key considerations in country exits from bilateral development cooperation.

A Guidance Note on Country Exit from Bilateral Development Cooperation

The Guidance Note below provides guidance on how to exit from development cooperation. The note builds on the 2008 joint donor evaluation “Managing Aid Exit and Transformation: Lessons from Botswana, Eritrea, India, Malawi and South Africa”. The note has most recently been used during the design and management of the on-going exit phase for Denmark’s development cooperation with Bolivia, Mozambique and Nepal.
